The Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (County of Buckinghamshire) (High Wycombe Town Centre) Order 1997

Citation and Commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (County of Buckinghamshire) (High Wycombe Town Centre) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 3rd March 1997.

Interpretation

2.  In this Order—

“the 1984 Act” means the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1);

“the 1991 Act” means the Road Traffic Act 1991;

“the permitted parking area” means the area designated as a permitted parking area by article 4(a) of this Order; and

“the special parking area” means the area designated as a special parking area by article4(b) of this Order.

Application

3.—(1) Subject to the provisions of this Article, this Order applies to the area in the county of Buckinghamshire around the centre of High Wycombe situated within the outer edge of the boundary delineated in black on the plan in Schedule 1 to this Order.

(2) In relation to each street named in column (2) of an item in the table in Schedule 2 to this Order the boundary of the area to which this Order applies shall be taken to pass through the point on that street named in column (3) of the item and accordingly, in so far as there is any inconsistency between this paragraph and paragraph (1) of this Article, this paragraph shall prevail.

Designation of Permitted Parking Areas and Special Parking Areas

4.  The Secretary of State hereby designates the area to which this order applies in accordance with article 3 above as—

(a) a permitted parking area; and

(b) a special parking area.

Modification and Application of Part II of the 1991 Act

5.  Sections 66, 69 to 74, 78, 79 and 82 of, and Schedule 6 to, the 1991 Act shall apply in relation to the permitted parking area and the special parking area and as so applied shall have effect subject to the modifications specified in Schedule 3 to this Order.

Modification of the 1984 Act and Schedule 3 to the 1991 Act

6.—(1) The 1984 Act shall be modified in relation to the permitted parking area and the special parking area as specified in Part I of Schedule 4 to this Order.

(2) Schedule 3 to the 1991 Act shall be modified in relation to the permitted parking area and the special parking area as specified in Part II of Schedule 4 to this Order.
