2. The provisions of the National Curriculum in history shall not apply—
(a)in the case of a pupil in the fourth key stage at a maintained school in England who is being taught the programme of study in geography set out in the document published by Her Majesty’s Stationery Office entitled “Geography in the National Curriculum (England)”(1) and specified in relation to that key stage by the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Geography) (England) (No2) Order 1991(2); or
(b)in the case of a pupil in the fourth key stage at a maintained school in Wales who is being taught the programme of study set out in the document published by Her Majesty’s Stationery Office entitled “Geography in the National Curriculum (Wales)”(3) and specified in relation to that key stage by the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Geography) (Wales) Order 1991(4).
