Citation, commencement and interpretation
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Education (National Curriculum) (Exceptions in History and Geography at Key Stage 4) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st August 1992.
(2) In these Regulations—
“the Act” means the Education Reform Act 1988; a reference to the provisions of the National Curriculum in history or geography is to such attainment targets, programmes of study and assessment arrangements as are specified for the time being for the subject in relation to the fourth key stage by orders made under section 4(2) of the Act; and a reference to the fourth key stage is to the period set out in paragraph (d) of section 3(3) of the Act.
