The Secretary of State, in exercise of his powers conferred by section 11(2)(c) of the National Health Service (Primary Care) Act 1997(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:—
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (England) (Pilot Schemes: Miscellaneous Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Amendment Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 1st April 2002.
(2) These Regulations extend to England only.
(3) In these Regulations the “principal Regulations” means the National Health Service (Pilot Schemes: Miscellaneous Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Regulations 1998(2).
2. In regulation 5 of the principal Regulations (persons who may perform personal medical services), in paragraph (2)—
(a)omit “and” at the end of sub-paragraph (a);
(b)after sub-paragraph (b) add—
“(c)a person who has an acquired right to practise as a general medical practitioner under regulation 5(1)(d) of the Vocational Training for General Medical Practice (European Requirements) Regulations 1994(3).”.

These Regulations amend the National Health Service (Pilot Schemes: Miscellaneous Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Regulations 1998.
Regulation 2 adds a further category to those persons who may perform personal medical services even though they are not suitably experienced within the meaning of sections 31(2) and 32 of the National Health Service Act 1977.
