The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1(1) and (2) and section 24(1) of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning) Order 1997 Revocation Order 1997 and shall come into force at 1800 hours on 6th August 1997.

Revocation

2.  The Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning) Order 1997(2) is revoked.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order revokes the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning) Order 1997 (in so far as it remains in force) which prohibited–

(a) fishing for or taking shellfish within the area designated in the Schedule to that Order;

(b) movement of such shellfish out of that area; and

(c) landing, using in the preparation or processing for supply of food of, supplying and other specified activities in relation to, such shellfish from the designated area within the United Kingdom.

The effect of this Order is to remove completely the prohibition from fishing for, taking, moving, landing, using in food production and supplying the shellfish affected by that Order, from the designated area.
