2.—(1) The Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986(1) is amended as follows.
(2) In section 2C (licensing of undertakings)(2), in subsection (2), for “the Animals Directive” substitute “this Act”.
(3) In section 20 (functions of the Committee for the Protection of Animals Used for Scientific Purposes)(3)—
(a)omit subsection (4);
(b)in subsection (6), omit the definition of “the foreign committees”.
(4) In section 20B (scientific methods etc which do not use protected animals)(4), in subsection (2)—
(a)omit paragraphs (a) and (b);
(b)in paragraph (c), omit “other”.
(5) In section 21A (statistics and reporting)(5)—
(a)in subsection (1), omit paragraph (c) (and the “and” before it);
(b)omit subsections (3) and (4).
(6) In Schedule 2C (conditions in licences)(6)—
(a)in paragraph 12, omit paragraph (b) (and the “and” before it);
(b)in paragraph 16, omit paragraph (b) (and the “and” before it);
(c)in paragraph 26(1)—
(i)omit “in a Member State”;
(ii)omit “there”;
(iii)omit “of the EU”.
(d)in paragraph 27, omit paragraph (b) (and the “and” before it).
