The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 34 of the Employment Relations Act 1999(1), makes the following Order:
1999 c.26; section 34(1) was amended by the Employment Relations Act 2004 (c.24), Schedule 1, paragraph 42(1), (2) and (3), section 34(3) was amended by the Employment Relations Act 2004, Schedule 1, paragraph 42(1) and (4), section 34(5) was amended by the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 (c.18), Schedule 3, paragraph 11(a) and (b) and section 34 was partially disapplied by the Work and Families (Increase of Maximum Amount) Order 2009 (S.I. 2009/1903), article 3.
Explanatory Memorandum sets out a brief statement of the purpose of a Statutory Instrument and provides information about its policy objective and policy implications. They aim to make the Statutory Instrument accessible to readers who are not legally qualified and accompany any Statutory Instrument or Draft Statutory Instrument laid before Parliament from June 2004 onwards.
