EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend regulation 7 of the Local Involvement Networks Regulations 2008 (S.I. 2008/528) (the “principal Regulations”).

Section 228 of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 (c.28) (“the Act”) places a temporary duty on local authorities to ensure until the “relevant time” that there are means by which activities specified in section 221(2) of the Act may be carried on. Regulation 7 of the principal Regulations defines the “relevant time”. These Regulations amend that definition so as to extend the maximum period for which the temporary duty applies.

A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
