1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (GLA Side Roads Amendment) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 1st October 2000.
2.—(1) The Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 shall be amended as follows.
(2) In section 124A(8) (which specifies the “appropriate authority” in relation to certain orders) for paragraph (b) there shall be substituted—
“(b)in relation to an order made under section 124B of this Act, the Mayor of London;”.
(3) In section 124A(9) (which provides for references to GLA side roads to be construed by reference to orders of certain descriptions) for paragraph (b) there shall be substituted—
“(b)an order made by the Greater London Authority under section 124B of this Act.”
(4) After section 124A there shall be inserted the sections 124B and 124C set out in the Schedule to this Order (which make provision corresponding to sections 14B and 14C of the Highways Act 1980(1) as respects changing the status, and recording the status, of roads).
