TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 46(4) of the Teaching and Higher Education Act 1998(1), the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Teaching and Higher Education Act 1998 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1999.

2.  The following provisions of the Teaching and Higher Education Act 1998 shall come into force on 1st September 1999–

• sections 32 and 33

• paragraphs 10 to 14 of Schedule 3 (and section 44(1) so far as relating thereto).

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force sections 32 and 33 of the Teaching and Higher Education Act 1998 and related consequential amendments on 1st September 1999. These sections make provision for a right to time off for study or training.
