1. This Order may be cited as the A4 Trunk Road (Bath Road and Sipson Way, Hillingdon) (Prohibition of Traffic Movements) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 7th February 1999.
2. In this Order:
“the trunk road” means that length of the A4 Trunk Road in the London Borough of Hillingdon known as Bath Road;
“Sipson Way” and “Newport Road” means the roads of that name in the London Borough of Hillingdon;
“bus” means a public service vehicle as defined in section 1 of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981(1);
“bicycle” means a bicycle not being a motor vehicle; and
“taxi” has the meaning given in regulation 4 of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 1994(2);
3. Save as provided in article 4 below, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle–
(a)proceeding in the westbound carriageway of the trunk road to turn right at the junction with Sipson Way, or
(b)proceeding in the nearside lane of the eastbound carriageway between Newport Road and Sipson Way from proceeding in any direction other than northbound at the junction with Sipson Way.
4. Nothing in article 3 above shall apply to:
(a)any vehicle being used for Police, Fire Brigade or Ambulance purposes; or
(b)anything done at the direction or with the permission of a constable in uniform or a traffic warden.
5. Nothing in article 3(b) above shall apply to buses, taxis or bicycles.
