The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions and the Secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly in exercise of the powers conferred by section 213(2)(e) of, and paragraph 1(3)(g) of Schedule 11 to, the Water Industry Act 1991(1), and those Secretaries of State and the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, acting jointly in exercise of the powers conferred by section 219(2)(e) of, and paragraph 1(3)(f) of Schedule 19 to, the Water Resources Act 1991(2), and in each case in exercise of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:

1991 c. 56; see the definition of“prescribed” in section 219(1).

(2)

1991 c. 57; see the definition of“prescribed” in section 221(1) and section 221(7)(b) as to the joint exercise of functions exercisable concurrently. References to the National Rivers Authority were amended to refer to the Environment Agency by the Environment Act 1995 (c. 25), Schedule 22, paragraphs 128 and 177.
