The Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) (Third Amendment) Regulations 1998

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred by articles 52(1) and 118(6) of the Air Navigation (No. 2) Order 1995(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and Commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) (Third Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 1st January 1999.

Amendment of the Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) Regulations 1994

2.  The Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) Regulations 1994(2) shall be further amended by substituting for the definition of “Technical Instructions” in regulation 3(1)–

“Technical Instructions” means the 1999–2000 English language edition of the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air which was approved and published by decision of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation;.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations further amend the Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) Regulations 1994. The definition of “Technical Instructions” now refers to the 1999–2000 English language edition of the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air approved and published by decision of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (Regulation 2).
