1. This Order may be cited as the Safety of Sports Grounds (Designation) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 20th August 1998.
2. The sports grounds specified in the Schedule to this Order (being sports grounds in England at which association football matches are played and which are occupied by a club which is a member of the Football League Limited or the Football Association Premier League Limited or the Football Association Premier League Limited, each of which in the opinion of the Secretary of State has accommodation for more than 5,000 spectators) are hereby designated as sports grounds requiring safety certificates under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975(1).
3. In Schedule to the Safety of Sports Grounds (Designation) Order 1976(2), the entries in respect of–
(a)Victoria Ground, Stoke-on-Trent; and
(b)Roker Park Ground, Sunderland,
shall be omitted.
