Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order consolidates, with amendments, the terms of previous Orders designating sports grounds in Scotland which require safety certificates under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975 and revokes these Orders. The Order also designates for the first time the stadium at Excelsior Stadium, Airdrie. The stadia previously designated under the names Firhill Park, Glasgow and Love Street Park, Paisley are now designated under the names Firhill Stadium, Glasgow and St Mirren Park, Paisley respectively. The Order does not designate the stadia at Annfield Park, Stirling, Broomfield Park, Airdrie and Douglas Park, Hamilton as these are no longer sports grounds for the purposes of the 1975 Act.
