2.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2) below, the Reserve Forces Act 1996 shall come into force on 1st April 1997.
(2) The repeal by Schedule 11 to the 1996 Act of provisions of the Reserve Forces Act 1980(1) shall not be brought into force by paragraph (1) above so far as it relates to the following provisions of the 1980 Act, namely, sections 10, 11, 13(2) to (4), 16, 17, 18(1) and (2), 19, 20(1), 21, 22, 24 to 26, 28, 29, 30(1) and (2), 31, 32, 34(1) to (3), 35, 36, 38, 39(1)(a) and (b), 40 to 42, 44, 47, 50, 57, 58, 63, 67, 69, 70, 83(1) and (2), 87, 93, 100, 101, 120, 139(1), 141 to 144, 145(1)(b) and (2), 146(1)(b) and (2), 154(1), 155, Schedule 2 and Schedule 8, paragraphs 1, 4, 5(1) and (3), 6 to 8, 10 to 15, 16(2), (3) and (5) to (10), 17, 19 and 20.
