The Secretary of State for Health in exercise of powers conferred by section 126(4) and (5) of, and paragraphs 10(1) and 12(b) of Schedule 5 to, the National Health Service Act 1977(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after consultation in accordance with paragraph 11(1) of that Schedule with bodies recognised by him as representing persons likely to be affected, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1977 c. 49; paragraph 10 of Schedule 5 was amended by paragraph 80(3) of Schedule 1 to the Health Services Act 1980 (c. 53), paragraph 3 of Schedule 6 to the Health and Social Services and Social Security Adjudications Act 1983 (c. 41), paragraph 14 of Schedule 3 to the Health and Social Security Act 1984 (c. 48), paragraph 8 of Schedule 1 to the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 (“the 1990 Act”) (c.19) and paragraph 60(c) of the Health Authorities Act 1995 (“the 1995 Act”) (c.17); paragraph 12(b) of Schedule 5 was amended by paragraph 9(c) of Schedule 1 to the 1990 Act (c.19) and paragraph 60(e) of Schedule 1 to the 1995 Act (c.17).
