In exercise of powers conferred by section 32(2) of the Health and Social Services and Social Security Adjudications Act 1983(1) and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I hereby make the following Order:–

Citation and interpretation

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Health and Social Services and Social Security Adjudications Act 1983 (Commencement No. 6) Order 1992.

(2) In this Order “the Act” means the Health and Social Services and Social Security Adjudications Act 1983.

Day appointed

2.  12th April 1993 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions of the Act specified in the first column of the Schedule to this Order (which relate to the matters specified in the second column of that Schedule).

Article 2

SCHEDULE PROVISIONS OF THE ACT WHICH COME INTO FORCE ON 12TH APRIL 1993

Provision of the Act	Subject Matter
Section 21	Recovery of sums due to local authority where persons in residential accommodation have disposed of assets
Section 22	Arrears of contributions charged on interest in land in England and Wales
Section 23	Arrears of contributions secured over interest in land in Scotland
Section 24	Interest on sums charged on or secured over interest in land

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 12th April 1993 sections 21 to 24 of the Health and Social Services and Social Security Adjudications Act 1983, which are the last remaining provisions of that Act not yet in force.

This Order has been preceded by seven earlier Orders: S.I. 1983/974, 1862, 1984/216, 957, 1347, the last mentioned as amended by S.I. 1984/1767, and, in relation to Scotland only, S.I. 1985/704.
