In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 61(1) of the Education Reform Act 1988(1), the Secretary of State for Education, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Parental Ballots for Acquisition of Grant-maintained Status) (Prescribed Body) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 16th November 1992.
2. Electoral Reform (Ballot Services) Limited whose registered office is at 33 Clarendon Road, London, N8 0NW is hereby prescribed for the purposes of section 61(1) of the Education Reform Act 1988.
3. The Education (Parental Ballots for Acquistion of Grant-maintained Status) (Prescribed Body) Regulations 1988(2) are hereby revoked.

These Regulations prescribe Electoral Reform (Ballot Services) Limited (which is a separately incorporated business of the Electoral Reform Society of Great Britain and Ireland Limited) for the purposes of section 61 of the Education Reform Act 1988 (ballot of parents). They revoke the Education (Parental Ballots for Acquisition of Grant-maintained Status) (Prescribed Body) Regulations 1988 which prescribed the Electoral Reform Society.
