The Local Government Act 1992 (Commencement No.1) Order 1992

The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 30(3) of the Local Government Act 1992(1) and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1992 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1992.

Provisions of the Local Government Act 1992 coming into force on 31st October 1992

2.  The following provisions of the Local Government Act 1992 shall come into force on 31st October 1992—

  • section 24 (Abolition of the Local Government Boundary Commission for England);

  • Schedule 3 (Amendments consequential on Part II); and

  • Part II of Schedule 4 (Repeals relating to Part II).

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force, on 31st October 1992, section 24 of, Schedule 3 to, and Part II of Schedule 4 to, the Local Government Act 1992.
