These Regulations provide that the National Curriculum in history does not apply toa pupil in key stage 4 who is following the full programme of study in geography. Corresponding provision is made for the National Curriculum in geography. The effect of the regulations is thus that a pupil in key stage 4 who follows the full programme of study in one subject is not required to study the other.
Full and short programmes of study are specified for history and geography by the orders referred to in regulations 2 and 3.
