The Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 (Continuation) Order 1991

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 6(2) of the Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987(1), the Secretary of State for Education and Science hereby makes the following Order, a draft of which has been laid before Parliament pursuant to section 6(4) of that Act and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament–

1.  This Order may be cited as the Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 (Continuation) Order 1991.

2.  The Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 shall not expire on 31st March 1992 but shall continue in force for a further year.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

Section 6 of the Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 provides that that Act expires on 31st March 1990 unless continued in force by an order made by the Secretary of State. The Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 (Continuation) Orders 1989 and 1990 (S.I. 1989/2366 and S.I. 1990/2516) continued the Act in force until 31st March 1992. This Order continues the Act in force for a further year. net
