1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Title Order 1988 and shall come into force on 1st December 1988.
2.—(1) In addition to the areas mentioned in column 2 of the Schedule to the Registration of Title Order 1987(1) (being the areas in England and Wales in which registration of title to land is already compulsory on sale) registration of title shall be compulsory on sale on and after 1st December 1988,
(a)in the districts of Aberconwy, Arfon, Carmarthen, Carrick, Ceredigion, Dinefwr, Dwyfor, East Cambridgeshire, East Staffordshire, Fenland, Hambleton, Kerrier, Meirionnydd, North Cornwall, Penwith, Preseli, Richmondshire, Ryedale, Scarborough, South Pembrokeshire, South Staffordshire, Stafford, Staffordshire Moorlands, Torridge, and West Devon, and
(b)in the administrative area of the Isles of Scilly.
(2) Accordingly, on and after 1st December 1988, registration of title to land shall be compulsory on sale in the areas mentioned in column 2 of the Schedule to this Order.
3. As from 1st December 1988 the Registration of Title Order 1987 shall cease to have effect.
