In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 11A of the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971(1) and with the approval of the Minister for the Civil Service, I hereby make the following Regulations:—
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Increase of Pensions (Overseas Service Pensions (Scheme and Fund)) Regulations 1973 and shall come into operation on 20th November 1973.
2.—(1) In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires, “the Act” means
(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of and otherwise in relation to these Regulations as it applies for the interpretation of and otherwise in relation to an Act of Parliament.
3. The provisions of Part I of the Act shall apply to any pension granted under the scheme constituted by the Overseas Service Pensions (Scheme and Fund) Regulations 1966(2) under section 2(3) of the Overseas Pensions Act 1973 as if the pension were an official pension specified in Part I of Schedule 2 to the Act:

These Regulations authorise the increase, under the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971, of pensions payable under the Overseas Service Pensions (Scheme and Fund) Regulations 1966 (now converted into an administrative scheme) to the same extent as United Kingdom Civil Service pensions.
