The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of his powers under section 8(2) of the Road Traffic (Foreign Vehicles) Act 1972 and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order:—
1. The Road Traffic (Foreign Vehicles) Act 1972 shall come into operation on 31st July 1972.
2. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Foreign Vehicles) Act 1972 Commencement Order 1972.

This Order brings into operation, on 31st July 1972, the Road Traffic (Foreign Vehicles) Act 1972 which makes provision, in relation to foreign goods vehicles and foreign public service vehicles, for securing the observance of certain statutory provisions relating to road traffic.
