Regulation 3(3)
The amount referred to in sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (3) of regulation 3 for any person in respect of any year shall be that calculated in accordance with the formula—

the amount of the emoluments enjoyed by him during the last year of the employment to which his expectation was ascribable;
the figure shown in column 2, 3 or 4 (whichever applies) in the following table in relation to his age in the relevant year;
the figure shown in column 2, 3 or 4 (whichever applies) of the following table in relation to the age at which he entered the service of the Board;
but in a case in which column 3 or 4 applies and in which the amount arrived at in accordance with that formula is less than the amount which would be so arrived at if the relevant emoluments had been £999 or £1,999, as the case may be, the amount referred to in the said sub-paragraph (a) shall be that calculated in accordance with that formula on the basis of those emoluments.
