An Act to increase the number of Marshall scholarships which may be provided in each year.
[17th December 1959]
Be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
(1)Section one of the [1 & 2 Eliz. 2. c. 39.] Marshall Aid Commemoration Act, 1953, shall have effect with the substitution for the reference to twelve scholarships of a reference to twenty-four or such greater number as Her Majesty may by Order in Council from time to time determine.
(2)Any Order in Council under this section shall be subject to annulment in pursuance of a resolution of either House of Parliament.
This Act may be cited as the Marshall Scholarships Act, 1959, and this Act and the Marshall Aid Commemoration Act, 1953, may be cited together as the Marshall Aid Commemoration Acts, 1953 and 1959.
