53The Secretary of State must not under the powers under section 4(1) acquire compulsorily any land of Canal & River Trust or any easement or other right over such land other than such land, or easements or other rights, as is reasonably necessary for, or in connection with, the construction, maintenance or operation of works authorised by this Act having regard also to the statutory duties of Canal & River Trust.
