Citation, commencement and interpretation.

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the M8 Motorway (Junction 29A Off Slip Road) (40mph Speed Limit) Regulations 2019 and come into force on 29 November 2019.

(2) In these Regulations “M8 Motorway” means the M8/A8 Edinburgh-Greenock Trunk Road.

Speed limit

2.  A person must not drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour on the length of the M8 Motorway specified in the schedule.

Exemption

3.  The speed limit imposed by regulation 2 does not apply to any—

(a)vehicle falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011(1) when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations,

(b)vehicle used for the purposes of Her Majesty’s Coastguard in an emergency.
