The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 88(6) of the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010(1).
In accordance with section 88(7) of that Act, the Scottish Ministers intend to make a marine conservation order (a “permanent order”) in respect of the South Arran Nature Conservation Marine Protected Area(2) (in accordance with the requirements of section 87 of that Act), and they have published notice of their proposal to make the permanent order(3).
1. This Order may be cited as the South Arran Marine Conservation Order 2014 (Urgent Continuation) Order 2015 and comes into force on 28th September 2015.
2. The South Arran Marine Conservation Order 2014(4) is to remain in force for the period of 12 months beyond that specified in article 1(2) of that Order.

The South Arran Marine Conservation Order 2014, made under the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010, is an “urgent marine conservation order”. This Order is an “urgent continuation order” which provides that the South Arran Marine Conservation Order 2014 remains in force for the period of 12 months beyond the period which is specified in article 1(2) of that Order. The South Arran Marine Conservation Order 2014 would otherwise remain in force until 30th September 2015.
The South Arran Nature Conservation Marine Protected Area was designated by the South Arran Nature Conservation Marine Protected Area Order 2014 (“the 2014 Order”). The 2014 Order is available at http://www.gov.scot/Resource/0045/00456829.pdf . The conservation objectives are stated in article 5 of the 2014 Order and the protected features are stated in Schedule 2 to, as introduced by article 4 of, that Order.
