1. These Regulations may be cited as the Single Use Carrier Bags Charge (Coronavirus Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2020.
2. The Single Use Carrier Bags Charge Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2013(3) are amended in accordance with regulation 3.
3. In Schedule 1, after paragraph 1(1)(m) insert—
“(n)bags used solely to carry goods supplied by a seller for home delivery as part of a grocery service from 1st April to 30th September 2020 only.”.

These Regulations amend the Single Use Carrier Bags Charge Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2013 so that the requirement to charge for a carrier bag does not apply to bags used solely to carry goods supplied by a seller for home delivery as part of a grocery delivery service. Such bags are exempt from the requirement to charge from 1st April to 30th September 2020
An impact assessment has not been prepared for these Regulations as no, or no significant, impact on the private or voluntary sector is forseen.
