The Department of the Environment makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 59(1) of the Road Traffic Offenders (Northern Ireland) Order 1996(1).
In accordance with Article 91(1) of that Order the Department has consulted with such representative organisations as it thinks fit.
1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Fixed Penalty) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2013 and shall come into operation on 18th February 2013.
2. Schedule 1 to the Road Traffic (Fixed Penalty) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007(2) is amended as follows—
(a)omit item 2; and
(b)after item 9 insert—
“9A | A fixed penalty offence under section 1(6) of the Goods Vehicles (Licensing of Operators) Act (Northern Ireland) 2010(3) | £200” |

This Order amends Schedule 1 to the Road Traffic (Fixed Penalty) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007 as a consequence of the implementation of the Goods Vehicles (Licensing of Operators) Act (Northern Ireland) 2010 (“the Goods Vehicles Act”) by omitting item 2 and re-introducing the fixed penalty offence as item 9A.
