The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (1) makes the following Order upon the dissolution of the Pig Production Development Committee (2) and in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(1), (2) and (3) of the Pig Production Development Act (Northern Ireland) 1964 (3):

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Pig Production Development (Levy) Revocation (No 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2008 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2008.

Revocations

2.  The following Orders are revoked:

(a)the Pig Production Development (Levy) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996 (4); and

(b)the Pig Production Development (Levy) Revocation Order (Northern Ireland) 2008 (5).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order revokes the Pig Production Development (Levy) Order (NI) 1996 consequential upon the dissolution of the Pig Production Development Committee (by S.R. 2007 No. 354). The Committee is dissolved and liability for levy ceases on 31 March 2008.

The Order also revokes the Pig Production Development (Levy) Revocation Order (Northern Ireland) 2008 (S.R. 2008 No.25) which contained an error rendering it ineffective.
