The Department of the Environment makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 4 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Northern Ireland) Order 2002(1).
In accordance with Article 4(7) of that Order the Department has consulted such district councils and other interested bodies or persons as the Department considers appropriate:
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as The Local Government (General Grant) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006.
(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on 1st April 2006.
2.—(1) The Local Government (General Grant) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003(2) shall be amended in accordance with paragraph (2).
(2) In regulation 2 (interpretation)—
(a)in the definition of “employment deprivation scores” for the words “July 2001” there shall be substituted “May 2005”; and
(b)in the definition of “income deprivation scores” for the words “July 2001” there shall be substituted “May 2005”.

These Regulations amend the Local Government (General Grant) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003. The reference to the published date of the Northern Ireland Multiple Deprivation Measure, produced by Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency of the Department of Finance and Personnel, is amended to May 2005.
