ROAD TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES

Parking Places on Roads (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996

Coming into operation

26th July 1996

WHEREAS it appears to the Department of the Environment to be necessary to provide suitable parking places for vehicles on the parts of the roads specified in Schedule 1;

NOW THEREFORE the Department, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 104(1)(c) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(1) and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Parking Places on Roads (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 26th July 1996.

Amendment

2.  The Parking Places on Roads Order (Northern Ireland) 1993(2) shall be amended by—

(a)the addition to Schedule 1 to that Order of the items in Schedule 1;

(b)the deletion from Schedule 1 to that Order of the items in Schedule 2.

SCHEDULE 1

427.  Culdee Street, Armagh, (North Side of cul-de-sac, to the rear of No. 1 Upper Irish Street) — from a point approximately 81 metres from its junction with Upper Irish Street, for a distance of approximately 4.5 metres.

428.  Main Street, Ballynahinch, (North Side) — from a point approximately 28 metres west of its junction with Harmony Way, for a distance of approximately 6 metres.

429.  Grampian Avenue, Belfast, (East Side) — from a point approximately 35 metres south of its junction with Holywood Road, for a distance of approximately 5.5 metres.

430.  Moltke Street, Belfast, (East Side) — from a point approximately 22 metres north of its junction with Frenchpark Street, for a distance of approximately 5.5 metres.

431.  Killymoon Street, Cookstown, (East Side) — from a point approximately 94 metres south of its junction with Killymoon Road, for a distance of approximately 6 metres.

432.  Killymoon Street, Cookstown, (East Side) — from a point approximately 106 metres south of its junction with Killymoon Road, for a distance of approximately 6 metres.

433.  Clanrolla Park, Craigavon, (South-West Side, in front of No. 41) — from a point approximately 148 metres from its junction with Moyraverty Road, for a distance of approximately 3 metres in a north-westerly direction.

434.  Moyraverty Court, Craigavon, (North-West Side, in front of No. 114) — from a point approximately 200 metres from its junction with Moyraverty Road, for a distance of approximately 5 metres in a north-westerly direction.

435.  Parkmore, Craigavon, (South Side of cul-de-sac, in front of No. 105) — from a point approximately 438 metres from its junction with Roundabout G, for a distance of approximately 3 metres.

436.  Parkmore, Craigavon, (North Side of cul-de-sac, in front of No. 114) — from a point approximately 435 metres from its junction with Roundabout G, for a distance of approximately 3 metres.

437.  Parkmore, Craigavon, (East Side of cul-de-sac, in front of No. 141) — from a point approximately 463 metres from its junction with Roundabout G, for a distance of approximately 5 metres.

450.  Corcrain Drive, Portadown, (South-West Side) — from a point approximately 61 metres south-east of its junction with Dawson Green, for a distance of approximately 5 metres.

451.  Derryclone Gardens, Portadown, (West Side) — from a point approximately 107 metres south-west of its junction with Drumard Avenue, for a distance of approximately 5 metres.

452.  Jervis Street, Portadown, (East Side) — from a point approximately 10 metres south-east of its junction with Craigavon Avenue, for a distance of approximately 5 metres.

453.  Moeran Park, Portadown, (East Side, in front of No. 28) — from a point approximately 59 metres south-west of its junction with Millington Park, for a distance of approximately 2.5 metres.

454.  Union Street, Portadown, (North Side, in front of No. 12) — from a point approximately 157 metres from its junction with West Street, for a distance of approximately 4 metres.

455.  Mark Street, Portrush, (North-East Side) — from a point approximately 88 metres north-west of its junction with Eglinton Street, for a distance of approximately 13 metres.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order further amends the Parking Places on Roads Order (Northern Ireland) 1993 (“the 1993 Order”).

The amendments provide for—

(a)the introduction of parking places on the parts of the roads specified in item numbers 427, 428 and 430 to 457 of Schedule 1;

(b)the deletion from Schedule 1 to the 1993 Order of the parking places specified in item numbers 216 and 359; and

(c)the reduction in length of the parking place on Grampian Avenue, Belfast, by the deletion of item number 274 from Schedule 1 to the 1993 Order and its redescription in item number 429 in Schedule 1 to this Order.
