Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014

Section 69 – Charging for preventative services and assistance

235.Section 69 provides the Welsh Ministers with power to make regulations about a local authority’s ability to impose a charge for the provision of preventative services and assistance (provided in accordance with sections 15 and 17). Subsection (2) prevents such regulations from making provision which would require a person to pay a charge under this section if a charge has already been imposed in accordance with section 59, and prevents the charge from covering anything other than the cost of providing the services or the assistance to which the charge relates. Subsection (2) also prevents the imposition of a charge upon a child for services provided in accordance with sections 15 and 17.
