Superannuation (Northern Ireland Assembly Commission) Order (Northern Ireland) 2000

The Department of Finance and Personnel in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 3(4) and (7) of the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972(1) and now vested in it(2) and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Superannuation (Northern Ireland Assembly Commission) Order (Northern Ireland) 2000 and shall come into operation on 24th January 2001.

2.  There shall be added to the employments listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 with effect from 2nd December 1999 employment by the Northern Ireland Assembly Commission(3).

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order adds employment by the Northern Ireland Assembly Commission to the employments listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 (“the 1972 Order”) for which the Department of Finance and Personnel may make pension schemes. It is retrospective by virtue of Article 3(7) of the 1972 Order.
