The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 25(3)(b) of the Immigration Act 2016(1).

In accordance with section 25(3)(a) of that Act, a draft code of practice giving guidance to enforcing authorities about the exercise of their functions under sections 14 to 23 of that Act has been laid before Parliament.

Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Labour Market Enforcement (Code of Practice on Labour Market Enforcement Undertakings and Orders: Appointed Day) Regulations 2016 and come into force on 25th November 2016.

Code of Practice: appointed day

2.  25th November 2016 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the code of practice entitled “Code of Practice on Labour Market Enforcement Undertakings and Orders” issued under section 25(1) of the Immigration Act 2016, a draft of which was laid before Parliament by the Secretary of State on 31st October 2016.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations bring into force a code of practice giving guidance to enforcement authorities about the exercise of their functions under sections 14 to 23 of the Immigration Act 2016 (labour market enforcement undertakings and orders).

A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.

The code of practice will be published by the Stationery Office and copies may be obtained from the Stationery Office bookshops or online shop. The guidance will also be available on the gov.uk website.
