3.—(1) This article designates for the purposes of section 75(1) of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011(1) (the appropriate officer) a local authority for each police area in England and each police area in Wales.
(2) In respect of a police area in England listed in column 1 of Schedule 1, the designated local authority is to be the local authority listed in column 2 of the Schedule opposite to the name of the police area.
(3) In respect of a police area in Wales listed in column 1 of Schedule 2, the designated local authority is to be the local authority listed in column 2 of the Schedule opposite to the name of the police area.
Subsection (2) of section 75 of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 defines “appropriate officer” for the purposes of Chapter 6 of Part 1 of that Act by reference to the local authority designated under subsection (1) of that section.
