Section 30 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 provides that a licence issued by the Secretary of State for the purposes of that Act or of regulations made under it may be issued subject to the condition of the payment of a fee. The Misuse of Drugs (Licence Fees) Regulations 1986, as amended, prescribe the fee payable in relation to a licence to produce, supply, or offer to supply or possess controlled drugs. The present Regulations further amend those Regulations so as to reduce the fees there prescribed. Earlier Regulations setting licence fees are revoked by these Regulations.
