This Order brings into force provisions of the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999 (“the Act”).
Article 1 deals with citation and interpretation.
Article 2 brings into force on 19th March 2002 paragraph 14 of Schedule 2 to the Act (which relates to occupational pension schemes: certificates etc. relating to the minimum funding requirement), and section 88 of the Act so far as relating to that paragraph, and a related repeal in Part I of Schedule 13 to the Act.
An assessment of the cost to business of the commencement of provisions in the Act is detailed in the Regulatory Impact Assessment relating to the Act. A copy of the Assessment has been placed in the libraries of both Houses of Parliament. Copies can be obtained from the Department for Work and Pensions, Regulatory Impact Unit, 3rd Floor, The Adelphi, 1–11 John Adam Street, London, WC2N 6HT.
