The Secretary of State for Education and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 60 of the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999(1) and after agreement by the Social Security Advisory Committee that proposals in respect of these Regulations should not be referred to it(2), hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Employment Zones (Amendment) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 26th February 2001.
2. The Schedule to the Employment Zones Regulations 2000(3) shall be amended as follows—
(a)in relation to the employment zone of Brent, after “the London borough of Brent” there shall be added “the London borough of Barnet, the London borough of Camden and the City of Westminster”;
(b)in relation to the employment zone of Doncaster, after “the metropolitan district of Doncaster” there shall be added “and the metropolitan district of Rotherham”.

These Regulations amend the schedule to the Employment Zones Regulations 2000 (as substituted by the Employment Zones (Amendment) Regulations 2000) by adding, to the Doncaster employment zone, the district of Rotherham and, to the Brent employment zone, the London boroughs of Barnet, Camden and the City of Westminster.
See sections 170 and 173(1)(b) of the Social Security Administration Act 1992 (c. 5); paragraph 81 of Schedule 12 to the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999 added section 60 to the enactments regulations under which must normally be referred to the Committee.
