These Regulations implement Commission Decision of 9th December 1998 amending Decision 95/506/EC authorizing Member States temporarily to take additional measures against the dissemination of Pseudomonas solanacearum (Smith) Smith as regards the Kingdom of the Netherlands by amending the Potatoes Originating in The Netherlands Regulations 1997 so that they apply to potatoes grown in 1998 in The Netherlands (regulation 2(2), (3) and (4)).
These Regulations also amend the Potatoes Originating in The Netherlands Regulations 1997 to increase the fee for sampling potatoes from £116 to £118 (regulation 2(5)).
A Regulatory Appraisal (now known as a Regulatory Impact Assessment) was prepared in relation to the Potatoes Originating in The Netherlands Regulations 1997. A separate Assessment has not been prepared in relation to these Regulations which increase the fee for sampling potatoes by less than the rate of inflation. Copies of the original Regulatory Appraisal can be obtained from the Plant Health Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Foss House, Kings Pool, 1–2 Peasholme Green, York YO1 7PX.
