This Order provides for provisions specified in relation to the first, second and third key stages of a pupil’s compulsory schooling in the document published by Her Majesty’s Stationery Office entitled “History in the National Curriculum (Wales)” to have effect for the purposes of specifying attainment targets and programmes of study for history in relation to schools in Wales. In the case of pupils in the first and second key stages, for the school years beginning in 1998 and 1999 those provisions apply with the amendments specified in the Schedule to the Order, but otherwise all the provisions apply.
The Order, which comes into force on 31st August 1998, supersedes the provisions of the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in History) (Wales) Order 1995.
