1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the A21 Trunk Road (Vauxhall Junction Slip Roads) (Trunking) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 24th March 1997.
(2) In this Order all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway.
2. The lengths of highways described in the Schedule to this Order (the highways being in this Order referred to as “the slip roads”), shall become trunk roads from the date when this Order comes into force.
3. The centre line of each of the slip roads is indicated by a heavy black line on the plan numbered SNPR96/19 marked “The A21 Trunk Road (Vauxhall Junction Slip Roads) (Trunking) Order 1997”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the Department of Transport, Great Minster House, Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR.

The routes of the slip roads, which are at Tonbridge, in the County of Kent, have been given the reference numbers 1 and 2 on the deposited plan, and are as follows:—
1. A route about 280 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with Vauxhall Lane to the London bound carriageway of the A21 Trunk Road.
2. A route about 180 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the coast bound carriageway of the A21 Trunk Road to the junction with Vauxhall roundabout.
