Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force certain provisions in the Merchant Shipping and Maritime Security Act 1997, as follows:
| Section 1: | Temporary exclusion zones. |
| Section 9 (partially) and _Schedule 1 (partially): | Amendment of powers of inspection and detention. |
| Section 10: | Power to require ships to be moved. |
| Schedules 6 and 7: | Amendments and repeals of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995 consequential on the above, and on other provisions of the Act which came into force on Royal Assent. |
