(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Order which established the Dartford and Gravesham National Health Trust, to alter the purpose for which the trust was established, and to amend its functions. (The trust has, in exercise of its existing functions, assumed responsibility for the ownership and management of the Joyce Green Hospital, Dartford and associated hospitals, previously managed by the former Dartford and Gravesham Health Authority.)
This Order confers on the trust the purpose specified in section 5(1)(b) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990, to provide and manage hospitals or other establishments or facilities. It also alters the trust’s functions so that they are no longer confined to the ownership and management of establishments or facilities previously managed or provided by health authorities, but are now to include the provision and managment of accommodation and services at other premises.
