Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 4(1), (4) and (5) of the School Inspections Act 1996(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Education (Chief Inspector of Schools in Wales) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 1st March 1997.
2. Roy Lewis James, Esquire, is hereby appointed Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Schools in Wales for a period commencing on 1st March 1997 and expiring on 31st May 1997.
3. The Education (Chief Inspector of Schools in Wales) Order 1994(2) is hereby revoked.

This Order reappoints Roy Lewis James to be Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Schools in Wales for the period from 1st March 1997 to 31st May 1997. He was appointed under the Education (Chief Inspector of Schools in Wales) Order 1994 for a period of two years and two months commencing on 31st December 1994.
