1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as The Ayr Road Route (M77) (Speed Limit) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on the date declared by the Secretary of State as traffic authority(1) by notice in accordance with the Special Roads (Notice of Opening) (Scotland) Regulations 1964(2) to be the date on which the special road specified in paragraph (2) below is open for use as a special road.
(2) The special road referred to in paragraph (1) above is the special road, together with connecting roads, authorised to be provided by–
(a)The Ayr Road Route (M77) (City of Glasgow District Boundary - Malletsheugh) Special Road and Connecting Road Scheme 1992(3);
(b)The Strathclyde Regional Council (Ayr Road Route) (A77) (Dumbreck to City of Glasgow District Boundary) Special Road Scheme 1987; and
(c)The Strathclyde Regional Council (Ayr Road Route) (A77) (Dumbreck to City of Glasgow District Boundary) (Connecting Roads) Special Roads Scheme 1987.
(3) In these Regulations “the special road” means the special road specified in paragraph 1(2) above.
