4.—(1) The following form of words:
“PEIDIWCH PHLEIDLEISIO DROS RAGOR NA(G) ... ... ... ... YMGEISYDD”
is hereby prescribed as the form of words in Welsh for the words “VOTE FOR NO MORE THAN ... ... ... ... CANDIDATES” which are specified in the form of the front of the ballot paper in the Appendix of Forms in Schedule 2 to the Local Elections (Principal Areas) Rules 1986(1).
(2) The following form of words:
“Rhif
Etholiad dros ranbarth etholiadol sir/bwrdeisdref sir ... ... ... ... ar ... ... ... ... 19 ... ... ... ...”
is hereby prescribed as the form of words in Welsh for the words,
“No.
Election for the ... ... ... ... electoral division of the county/county borough of ... ... ... ... on ... ... ... ... 19 ... ... ... ...”
which are specified in the form of the back of the ballot paper in the said Appendix(2).
(3) The forms of words in Welsh prescribed by paragraphs (1) and (2) above shall be printed so that they appear immediately beneath the corresponding words in English on every ballot paper at an election of councillors to the council of a new principal area in Wales.
(4) In paragraph (3) above, the reference to a new principal area is a reference to such an area created by section 20(1) of, and Schedule 4 to, the Local Government Act 1972(3) as substituted by section 1 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994(4).
S.I. 1986/2214; the words were substituted by rule 2(4) of the Local Elections (Principal Areas) (Amendment) Rules 1987 S.I. (1987/261). There have been other amendments to S.I. 1986/2214 which are not relevant to this Order.
By virtue of section 17(4) of the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994, the reference to a county/county borough replaces, in relation to Wales, the reference in S.I. 1986/2214 to a county/district.
